Boho Maternity with a twist

Every maternity photographer in Edmonton is obsessed with boho and lifestyle portraits right now, and I couldn’t be MORE obsessed! It’s definitely the photography trend for 2021.So of course as a newborn photographer, I do not have a large enough studio to support this boho vibe. No matter how obsessed I am with this entire style, I just do not have enough space for it. Thats why I am so incredibly grateful that the Hey You Studio has been opened to other photographers for rentals! I’ve got to explain to you ALL the reasons why this studio is AMAZING.

First thing I love about this studio, is there are plenty of studio options to choose from. Studio options range from simple & light, to more earthy and filled with textures. New options also include a studio with a bed, or options that are for more Dramatic lighting effects.

Second, you can choose to rent it for only one hour, or multiple hours! This is WONDERFUL because not every studio allows this option! Most studios have a two hour options, when this just isn’t always necessary for every session.

Third, there is NO clutter to deal with! Some studios have all of their storage items stacked up in the corners or areas of the studio, and there is hardly a frame that you can take without spending an HOUR rearranging the space! Who has time for this? I sure don’t want to spend money renting a studio just so I can spend that time rearranging it to make it suitable for an extremely simple setup that doesn’t include clutter.

Fourth, they have very REALISTIC expectations of their studio rental agreements between renting photographers. They expect you to clean up better then you found it. This sounds pretty reasonable, and fairly easy to do! Because it takes common sense! The reason I bring this up, is because other rental studios in the city have ENTIRE PAGES of to do lists that you HAVE to follow, or you get charged excessive fees. Not to mention, you have to document that you’ve actually done these things or you get charged more fees.

Fifth and final, I love their lobby area! It’s very professional, decorated so CUTE that you could photograph in there too! It makes it a very welcoming arrangement for photographers to bring their clients to. This lobby also contains a washroom that little ones can use if they can’t wait to get into the studio room that also contains a private washroom.
